SUBMISSION AGREEMENT

We are delighted that you are interested in submitting your art to the Youth at War & Peace project. As you will see, you will retain ownership of your art. However, you are granting Youth at War & Peace, a project of Sacred Slam, Inc. the license to duplicate, display, transmit, etc. your Art, and reflections, in all media.

We are requesting these rights so that your thoughtful work can inspire as many people as possible for generations to come. Any revenue from this work will be used to continue to fund the Youth at War & Peace project, and other Sacred Slam initiatives, engaging people around the world to protect and nourish the social assets of reflection, diversity and cultural expression. Sacred Slam is an American based not-for-profit public charity that challenges misconceptions through the arts and creates grass roots intercultural exchanges.

By clicking the button below and emailing us, you affirm that the art you are submitting is original to you, that you own all necessary rights to this work, and that the art does not defame or otherwise violate the rights, copyrights, trademarks, privacy, or reputation of any third party.

You grant Sacred Slam, Inc., a non-exclusive, assignable, royalty-free, perpetual world-wide permanent license to duplicate, display, distribute, excerpt, or transmit the submitted Art and reflections, in any format or media known or hereafter known. Sacred Slam, Inc. shall have the right to own or register copyrights to any works or compilations created by Sacred Slam, Inc. that contain the Art and/or reflections, in whole or in part.

You agree to indemnify and hold Sacred Slam, Inc. harmless against any claims asserted by any third parties that allege the essay violates their rights, or from any breach by you of your promises in this agreement. You shall be responsible for any costs incurred by Sacred Slam, Inc. for defense or settlement of third- party claims, including but not limited to Sacred Slam, Inc.'s reasonable attorneys' fees.

You understand that submitting Art does not guarantee that your work will be used, displayed, or otherwise reproduced. Art and reflections, may be archived for public use, or reproduced in audio form, published in print or online, or in any other way. The decision of which and how art, and reflections, will be used will be at the sole discretion of Sacred Slam, Inc. You understand and are voluntarily submitting your Art and reflections without compensation and further understand that Sacred Slam, Inc. will not offer compensation for any derivative work that your Art or reflections may be a part of, nor shall you be entitled to claim any payment or compensation from Sacred Slam, Inc., whether or not your Art is included in any publications or materials sold or marketed by Sacred Slam, Inc. or otherwise used in connection with fundraising or promotion by Sacred Slam, Inc. If the Art you submitted is accepted for exhibition, publication or public display, we agree to use reasonable efforts to promptly notify you of such exhibition, publication or public display (provided that succeeding notices shall not be required in connection with ongoing exhibition or display or subsequent re-publication in identical or similar format).

Because we request personally-identifiable information, such as (but not limited to) your email address, and to conform to the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) in the United States, we require that all registrants be at least 13 years old. Other countries may have other age restrictions and we require that you follow all applicable law(s) for your locality. There is no way we can be aware of all legal restrictions world-wide, so it is your responsibility to be sure you are acting in a lawful manner.

You affirm that you are at least 13 years of age. You further affirm that either (i) you are at least 18 years of age and possess the legal right and ability to enter into this agreement, or (ii) this submission is being made on your behalf by a parent or legal guardian who possesses the legal right and ability to enter into this agreement on your behalf.
